Tipping customs vary around the world, but the maths is always the same: multiply the bill by the tip percentage. This calculator does it instantly and — most usefully — splits the total fairly between everyone at the table, so nobody has to do awkward mental arithmetic while the waiter waits.
Enter the bill amount, pick a tip percentage (tap a preset like 15% or 20%, or type a custom one), set the number of people splitting, and press Calculate Tip. You'll see the tip amount, the grand total and each person's share.
As a rough etiquette guide: in the USA, 15–20% is standard for table service (20% for great service); in the UK, 10–12.5% is common and often already added as a service charge; in much of the Middle East and Asia, tipping is optional or a small rounding-up. When in doubt, check whether a service charge is already included before adding more.
For group dinners, a fair approach is to split the bill (including tip) equally — or split the food bill equally and let anyone who ordered expensive drinks cover their own. Either way, this calculator keeps the numbers transparent for everyone.
